When do you start shipping the Locator? 

We are on track to start shipping the first Locators on the 15th Sept 2009. We will initialy have a limited number of Locators so make sure to order yours.

What exactly is a NavSeeker Personal Locator?

The Locator is a wireless device that monitors signals from the Global Positioning Satellite (GPS) network, calculates its position, and transmits that information via the mobile network to our web page where you can look up the location.

Why do I have to activate my NavSeeker Personal Locator?

You need to register your Personal Locator so we can enable it to communicate over the mobile network. There is a fee associated with this so make sure to review our Network Plans before buying the Locator.

How do I look up the Location of my Personal NavSeeker’s location?

The people at NavSeeker have made sure that you have the option to access your Device’s location in a number of different ways. You can log onto our website from any Internet enabled device such as a PC, MAC, laptop or smart phone (such as a Blackberry or iPhone).

How does NavSeeker know when to notify me about Alerts (such as speeding, SOS and GeoFence)?

You can go to the NavSeeker web page at any time and set up how you want to be notified. You can sign up to receive a email if a alert is triggered. You can be notified when a) your Locator enters or exits a GeoFence, b) when somebody pushes the SOS button, or c) when the Locator breaks the speed limit you have set.


Do I have to set up a GeoFence in order for my NavSeeker Personal Locator to work? *

As soon as you activate your NavSeeker Personal Locator the unit will begin to send GPS information and you will be able to look up its location. However, if you want to receive any automated alerts, you do have to set up your own personal Alert under the Alert's TAB  in order for the Locator to know when you want to be notified. Don’t worry, setting up your personal Alerts and GeoFence is just as easy as activating the unit.

What is the "add new user" on My Account" page? 


You can add additional users to your account so you can share the location of your Locator. Dont worry, the people you sign up will not have access to your  "My Account" information. 

Does the NavSeeker Personal Locator really work everywhere in the United States and Europe?

The NavSeeker Personal Locator works through the world’s largest M2M wireless network, so it does work in all 50 states and all of the European countries. But just like a cellular phone, there are still some areas that are not yet covered. The coverage area is constantly growing. You can click here to see if your area is covered.

How accurately can I locate my NavSeeker Personal Locator? 

In most cases you can locate your NavSeeker Personal Locator to within a 50-foot radius of its physical location. The accuracy will be better outside with clear access to the sky.

Will other people be able to tell if I am carrying a Personal NavSeeker Locator? 

The beauty of the NavSeeker Personal Locator’s design is that it is completely inconspicuous. The device is the size of a matchbox, so it can fit almost anywhere. Plus, with no sounds, no one has to know if you or a loved one is carrying it. 

Will the NavSeeker Personal Locator stand up to my kid/car/pet/teen?

The NavSeeker Personal Locator was designed to withstand most kinds of abuse. You can rest assured that no matter who carries it, the NavSeeker Personal Locator will work properly. The entire unit is completely sealed so it is waterproof. It is designed to work in hot and cold conditions. The NavSeeker Personal Locator is built to stand up to most of the everyday abuse that you can throw at it.

Can the NavSeeker Personal Locator be dangerous?
Does it emit any waves that may be hazardous to my child?


The NavSeeker Personal Locator is safe for anyone to carry it, day after day. It uses the same kind of technology as a mobile phone or mobile GPS device. This type of product has been thoroughly studied and proven safe time and time again.

How can I keep my child from losing his or her NavSeeker Personal Locator?

If you do misplace your NavSeeker Locator, you can simply check its location anytime and go and get it!  

Can the NavSeeker Personal Locator be turned off so that I can’t locate it?

You can disable the power button on the device from the Customization TAB under your account so it can not be tured off. 

How do I monitor the battery level of my NavSeeker Personal Locator?


The NavSeeker Locator is using a high capacity battery, minimizing the need for frequent recharge. With up to a 10 day battery life, you will never worry about constantly having to charge your NavSeeker Locator.
A LED light on the locator will tell you when it’s time to recharge. We can also alert you via email, and/or our Web page when your device starts to run low so that you can charge the Device. The discharge of the battery is similar to a mobile phone. The more you use it, the shorter a charge will last.
